We understand that many hospital board members are not familiar with the unique aspects of facility/financing projects. It is not uncommon for the process to start with an architectural firm, who begins the facility planning by interviewing hospital personnel, then oftentimes develops a plan that far exceeds the expectations of the board, which temporarily ends the planning process. 

Our approach avoids this pitfall.  We first determine, with architectural assistance, the needs of the hospital, then provide preliminary financial parameters to the architect to consider as they develop alternatives. These preliminary financial parameters are developed based on the hospital's debt capacity, cash position, anticipated other equity sources, and other factors. Basically, we will not bring plans to the board that are simply not affordable.  We enable the board to better perform their oversight duties.
